If you are in the Lincolnshire area on Sunday 15 May, the day before the 79th anniversary of the Dams Raid, you are welcome to attend a talk I will be giving at 3pm at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa. I will be speaking about the 133 men who flew on the RAF’s most famous Second World War bombing operation, telling some of their stories and dispelling some of the myths which have grown up in the years since.
Tickets cost £5 and can be booked here.
Regret will not be able to attend due to prior commitment. However, perhaps during your presentation, you could work in a reference to our Drivers’ Notes which I hope to be able to update before the 80th next year.
Hello Charles,
I hope this note finds you and yours well.
Will this talk be recorded or “Zoomed”? I won’t be in a position to attend this year, but I am hoping to attend next year to the point that I’m reserving a room at the Petwood a year in advance!
Best regards,
Hartley Garshowitz

I heartily 2nd Terry’s request for a Video Copy of this talk. I live in Barrie, Ontario Canada and am a huge fan of your Website and the overall history of the Dams Raid and of course the 1954 Movie despite its minor inaccuracies. I too would be willing to pay a fee for access to a video or video stream option. I also wish you great success with your upcoming presentation.

Hi Charles, Tickets bought, greatly looking forward to the event.
Dear Charles,
I’m going to try and attend, though I’m really unsure about committing to the drive (it’s a long story). I live in South Lincs. I have a particular interest in AJ-T, the larger than life Big Joe McCarthy and his crew. I’d be happy to pay to view or listen to any recording if I am not up to travelling on the day.
I’m sure the event will be a great success.
Best wishes Caroline.
I would give my back teeth to be there ,but it’s impossible I hope the event will be a great success in sure it will be.
Hello Charles.
What a shame it is on the jubilee weekend, I am in Windsor that weekend for the jubilee celebrations.
I only live about 20 miles away from the petwood Hotel.
If I may ask Charles, would you possibly be videoing your talk so those of us who cannot be present because of health reasons can purchase and enjoy it remotely on DVD? Just a thought. Of course, I don’t know if you need licenses to film your own performances, however, I’d still love to see you in action!
Please keep up your excellent work!
