There was a report on BBC East news last night on the first flight together by both Lancasters. They took off from Coningsby on two occasions and flew several practice manoeuvres. The first scheduled public appearance is at Eastbourne Air Show at 1500, later today and on other days this week. Also at the Combined Ops Show, Flying Proms (Shuttleworth), Herne Bay Air Display and Sywell Great War Airshow later this week.
If Peter Jackson intends to make this movie, he’s missing out on a great opportunity to shoot multiple Lancs!
My son took me to Coningsby especially to see the two Lancasters flying together as I’m off to Canada & won’t be able to visit an airshow. It was a momentous occasion & one I will remember all my life as I was born before the war & know what sacrifices were made by those brave men who flew in them . Such a Privilege & an Honour to witness the last two airworthy Lancasters
