The annual tribute to Sqn Ldr David Maltby DSO DFC and his crew took place at David Maltby’s graveside in St Andrew’s Church, Wickhambreaux, Kent, on Monday 14 September. The largest turnout for several years brought together the East Kent branch of the Aircrew Association, who organise the event, the Maltby family, members of the public and, for the first time, the Littlebourne branch of the British Legion.
I must make an effort to travel down next year and pay my respects
me and my dad are defintly going there
I am at the moment writing a book on the dambuster operation for the 70th Annivesary in 2013, I wrote my first book ‘ the Men Who Breached The Dams’ in 1982 and also ‘ Beyond The Dams to the Tirpitz’ in 1983, also a tribute on the 50th Annivsary in 1993.
I would like to include as much as I can about David Maltby and the annual cermeont at his grave in Kent. Any help appreicated.
