My father’s first squadron as a new engineer was 617 “dambuster” squadron out of RAF Waddington in the early 60s, he always said it was the proudest period of his service and hevdid 30 years. I was born during his tour grew up to be an RAF Regt Officer. My family is steeped in service in the RAF but none so illustrious as Guy Gibson’s 617 squadron.

Good evening Julian Woodhouse,
Do you know anything further with regards to Guy Gibson being presented with the model Silver Lancaster I believe that there only two commissioned and subsequently produced.
Thank you.
Michael
