I was tipped off by a friend in Australia, together with whom, in my teens, I was awed by the dams raid as portrayed in the movie starring Richard Todd. I've often wondered whether the crash site of Guy Gibson's aircraft, shot down in 1944 reportedly near Muenchen Gladbach, ( close to the Dutch border ?) has ever been located.
